Healthfirst Selects American Specialty Health to Administer Chiropractic Benefit for Its Medicare and Commercial Plans
SAN DIEGO (Jan. 13, 2006)– American Specialty Health (ASH), the nation's leading complementary health care benefits organization, will administer chiropractic benefits for Healthfirst members in the state of New York.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2006, ASH subsidiary American Specialty Health IPA of New York, Inc. (ASH IPA-NY) will provide access to chiropractic network and administration services for 28,000 of Healthfirst's Medicare and commercial HMO and POS members in the Kings, New York, Queens, Nassau, and Bronx counties of New York. Depending on their available plan, members will pay either a $0 or $10 copayment for unlimited in-network services for the treatment of subluxation. Medical referral is required for treatment.”
